What's it all about?

The International Schools Island
Shamblesguru and Takeme have combined their skills, knowledge and super avatar powers to design and build an Island in Second Life to support educators worldwide with an emphasis on International Schools Communities.		 You need to already be a member of Second Life and Logged on in order to use this link to the International Schools Island isi Blog recording the growth of an island

In the first phase we cover S.E.Asia but it is planned to expand it to other continents .... in practical terms even this first phase will be of immediate relevance and use to Int.Sch. communities worldwide. (much like like the Shambles website is .. but this time in 3 dimensions)

.... the island was delivered on 9th September 2007 (or 10th depending on which time zone you live in) and building has begun .... visit the BLOG to see how it develops ...
The island open to the public from 5th February 2008.

The International Schools (k-12) GROUP
Maybe even more important than the virtual island is the community that will grow up around the island. A group has been established to support this ... the main focus is to help educations share resources more easily than they do now.
To join the group ... log in to Second Life ... right clecik on your avatar ... choose "Groups" => "Search" ... search for 'International Schools (k-12)'
When found .. just click on "JOIN"

We will keep the number of messages sent out (by Instant Messaging) to around two a month to keep them digestible.
