Presentations in S.L.
One of the problems with living in Asia is that when attending online
presentations and professional development events in S.L. they are
often USA-time ... when we are sleeping.
This will improve as more Asia residents start organising events
in our time zone ... but for now it "sucks" ... (a
technical term .. Google it.)
There are a few solutions to reduce this
inconvenience ... and one is SLCNSecond
Life Cable Networkhttp://slcn.tv
SLCN is 'brilliant' .. their name describes
exactly what they do ... I joined a presentation recently that took
place between 1:00a.m. and 2:00a.m. (Thai
time) .... but after finding out that SLCN was covering the
event I did the sensible thing (went to bed)
and the next day watched the recording of the event .. which can
be seen either on their website or on one of the many TV/video viewer
in S.L. itself. (i.e. inworld)
Many thanks SLNC for contributing to
a good night's sleep!
Use of Second
Life by Schools Across Asia ... help
If you know of a school in Asia that is already using Second Life
then I would appreciate it if you could drop me a line.
There is minimal use at the moment (afaik) and I'd like to raise
awareness of any ground breaking work so that experiences can be
shared more easily.

Their project is designed to provide guidance about how schools can bridge
the rapidly growing divide between the nature of learning in the home,
as the young use a plethora of digital technologies, and the teaching
and learning in most schools.
They already have schools in Taiwan and Macau taking part but would like
