TRAILS is a tool for library media specialists and teachers to assess the information literacy skills of their students. It is completely Web-based and freely available for use.

TRAILS?ool for Real-time Assessment of Information Literacy Skills?s a project of Libraries and Media Services (LMS) at Kent State University. It is one of the initiatives of the Institute for Library and Information Literacy Education (ILILE), a federally-sponsored project to foster collaboration between teachers and librarians who are concerned with advancing library and information literacy in the PK-12 school curriculum.
The goal of the TRAILS project was to create a tool for secondary education that would assist library media specialists in assessing the information literacy competencies of high school students.
