http://illuminations.nctm.org/
The NCTM Illuminations Web site is designed to illuminate the new vision for school mathematics presented in NCTM's Principles and Standards for School Mathematics.
Goals:
- Provide Internet resources that will help improve the teaching and learning of mathematics for all students.
- Provide Internet resources that "illuminate" the NCTM Standards (1989-2000).
- Provide Internet resources that bring alive the ideas and recommendations set forth in the NCTM Principles and Standards for School Mathematics (Standards 2000).
- Provide professional development for teachers of mathematics.
- Provide Standards-based resources for classroom use.
- Help communicate the vision of Standards-based mathematics teaching and learning.

Motivate (Maths)
http://www.motivate.maths.org/
MOTIVATE is a real-time videoconferencing project for schools that enables students to experience the magic of mathematics at first hand through interaction with professional mathematicians.
Motivate is a unique and exciting videoconferencing project which began in the Autumn term of 1999, linking professional mathematicians with primary and secondary schools throughout the UK and overseas. Motivate enables school students of all ages, particularly those from disadvantaged areas, to take part in live videoconferences with world-class University mathematicians and other speakers from a mathematical background.
Between the videoconferences, the students have the opportunity to work on projects that enrich the normal curriculum. These are frequently cross-curricular, and give students the chance to work in the same way that professional mathematicians do. It also allows them to develop transferable skills in motivating their groups and presenting their research. The aim is to raise the aspirations of the students, to stretch them intellectually, to develop their confidence and presentation skills and to show that mathematics might have a part to play in their futures.
In the videoconferencing sessions, prominent mathematicians and mathematical scientists talk to the students about why they chose to study maths and pursue research as a career, and then discuss their own research area.
