Better understanding educational costs
http://www.unesco.org/iiep/eng/research/edfinan/edcosts.htm
Better understanding educational costs : international perspective from UNESCO
Knowing the pattern of costs and the sources of funds is essential for defining policies
Many countries do not have full knowledge of how much their education system costs
Education is funded from different sources - the state, local communities, families as well as NGOs and external partners.
A complete and coherent appraisal of educational costs entails collecting and processing statistical, accounting and budgetary data, as well as putting together and consolidating information on financial flows.

Managing your capitation: A guide to the spreadsheet
http://www.terry-freedman.org.uk/artman/publish/article_119.shtml
Managing your capitation: A guide to the spreadsheet
This is a fairly useful spreadsheet which makes use of a couple of features in Excel to make it possible to keep tabs on your spending -- not just how much you're spending, but what it's going on too.
The spreadsheet is based on the principle that the less you have to type in, the less likely you are to make mistakes -- and the more time you will save.
The main feature for this is the Data Validation tool, which may be found in the Data menu. Use this to create, or refer to, a list of items so that all you have to do when using the spreadsheet is click on a drop-down menu to enter the data into a cell.
The spreadsheet itself is available at
