Virtual Zoo Project The zoo project is a way to preserve our student's work. Each year in Life Science the students research and document a specific animal. In the past these reports would be handed back and never seen again.
Our Virtual Zoo preserves that work and builds a relational shell to add context to each animal. Our virtual Zoo is becoming a resource to help our student understand how animals are classified.

Welcome to the largest virtual zoo in the world with hundreds of your favorite animals. We have more animal pictures and animal facts than you can see in a day so come back often.
Make us one of your favorite places since we are adding wildlife all the time.
The animal pictures and animal facts in our zoo are interesting and helpful for research projects. Parents, teachers, and kids of all ages love exZOOberance. This zoo has no cages so the wildlife can roam free. You will find animals, including hard-to-find endangered species, on every page.
Under "Virtual Zoo" you will find three main areas; animals that walk, animals that swim and animals that fly. "They Walk" includes animals like tigers, bears, elephants, lions, monkeys, cheetahs and giant pandas. "They Swim" includes animals like dolphins, whales, alligators, seals and sea turtles. "They Fly" includes animals like eagles, hawks, owls, storks and parrots.

The Zoo is home to more than 5,800 animals—mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, and invertebrates. It was the first zoo established with the purpose of saving animals on the brink of extinction. Today, nearly 130 of the Zoo’s species of animals are endangered or threatened. The Zoo participates in 40 of the 70 Species Survival Plans coordinated by the American Zoological Association to ensure the survival in zoos of populations of endangered species.

At the World-Famous San Diego Zoo, you will see some of the world’s rarest wildlife including giant pandas (and Hua Mei, the only panda cub in the U.S.), and koalas. New at the Zoo is Ituri Forest, a mysterious central African rain forest where adventurers encounter forest buffalos, hippos, otters, okapis, colorful birds and acrobatic monkeys. Other unique habitats include Polar Bear Plunge, Tiger River, Gorilla Tropics and Sun Bear Forest.
