This is a chronology of Ancient Egypt. The history of ancient Egypt proper starts with Egypt as a unified state, which occurred sometime around 3150 BC. The conventional Egyptian chronology is the chronology accepted during the 20th century, but it does not include any of the major revision proposals that have also been made in that time.

http://www.mos.org/quest/teaching.php
Hieroglyphs represent both phonetically spelled words and pictographs. This means that symbols can stand for a concept, but to a large extent, they are phonetic sounds. So it is possible to refer to a hieroglyphic alphabet, and write your own name in hieroglyphic. Try it!
Write your own name in a cartouche
Note: You didn't have to be a man to be a Pharaoh. After her husband Thutmose II died, Queen Hatshepsut declared herself Pharaoh.

Scale Model of the Great Pyramid
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/pyramid/geometry/model.html
You can build a model of the Great Pyramid, but first you need to scale it down. To do this, you will need to make the pyramid 3,000 times smaller than it really is! To achieve that, every 30 meters of the pyramid is represented as 1 centimeter on the outline provided.
Once you have printed and assembled your scaled-down model of the Great Pyramid, you can compare it to scaled-down versions of other buildings and objects, including people.
