Iya-ola (free download)
http://www.futurelab.org.uk/research/projects/iya_report_01.htm Iya-ola is a collection of language learning games with a difference: the player can only progress through collaborating with a learner in a different country. Iya-ola: a development project by Attic Media in collaboration with Futurelab Like an online exchange, the Iya-ola prototype idea provides 9 year-old children with a means of trying out their Spanish with Spanish-speaking children, whilst the Spanish children have an opportunity to practise their English. If the game does its job effectively, eventually the language will flow between learners in the two countries without the need for a specific quiz structure to help them. Chinese Squabble

Chinese Squabble is a spinoff idea from miltownkids, brian, and I during one of the game club meeting in 2003 we had every Sunday at ShuangYu Cafe in Shida Rd. The theory behind this game is quite easy and very similar to the english squabble, however, Chinese is of completely different league of language compared to English, the basic component that we played is not letters, but elements (radicals incl.). |
