Foreign Language Rubrics

Foreign Language Rubrics
Rubrics, ?ets of scoring guidelines for evaluating student work?(Wiggins, 1998) are used in MCPS foreign language classes to grade performance-based or authentic tasks.
The MCPS foreign language program uses holistic rubrics (one general rubric) that have been developed to evaluate speaking and writing tasks. The rubrics are used throughout the year to ensure that students understand their use on countywide exams. By providing students with the rubrics before they prepare for a task, teachers communicate what a good performance looks like before they are evaluated.
