Feed to JavaScript
http://feed2js.org/
Feed to JavaScript
An RSS Feed is a dynamically generated summary (in XML format) of information or news published on other web sites- so when the published RSS changes, your web site will be automatically changed too.
Think of it as a box you define on your web page that is able to update itself, whenever the source of the information changes, your web page does too, without you having to do a single thing to it.
It is a rather simple technology that allows you, the humble web page designer, to have this content displayed in your own web page, without having to know a lick about XML!

RSS: A Quick Start Guide for Educators
http://weblogg-ed.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/05/RSSFAQ4.pdf
RSS: A Quick Start Guide for Educators
So just what is RSS and how can it be used in education? Depending on who you talk to, RSS stands for Rich Site Summary or Real Simple Syndication.
Either way, RSS is a real important technology that information specialists and
educators would be well advised to harness sooner rather than later.
In simple terms, Weblogs (and an ever-growing number of other sites) generate a behind-the-scenes code in a language similar to HTML called XML.
This code, usually referred to as a "feed" (as in "news feed,") makes it possible for readers to "subscribe" to the content that is created on a particular Weblog so they no longer have to visit the blog itself to get it. As is true with traditional syndication, the content comes to you instead of you going to get it, hence ?eal Simple Syndication.?image1.x=55

FeedBlitz manages subscriptions, circulation tracking, testing, and is compatible with all major blogging platforms and services such as Blogger, Typepad and FeedBurner. Unlike other blogmail services, FeedBlitz is reliable, scalable and fully supported. No betas, wish lists or road map items here. You're in production, and so is FeedBlitz.
FeedBlitz also enables end users to monitor any feed or blog, anonymously if they wish, regardless of whether the publisher of that feed is using FeedBlitz. FeedBlitz therefore provides a simple way for users to receive updates from their trusted sources using a familiar and ubiquitous medium - email.

What's RSS and Why Should I Care About It?
http://www.digitaldivide.net/articles/view.php?ArticleID=68
What's RSS and Why Should I Care About It?
RSS, or Really Simple Syndication, is a technical format that allows online publishers to share and distribute their content to other websites or individual Internet users. It's commonly used for distributing headlines on news websites. Bloggers use it to distribute summaries of their blog entries as well. RSS is written in the Internet coding language known as XML, which is why you see RSS buttons labeled that way.
But why do RSS feeds look like a jumbled mess when I click on them with most Web browsers? It's because RSS feeds are meant to be read by machines rather than people. Software and websites can understand the data contained in RSS feeds and make it available to people on personalized websites, through software known as news aggregators, even through email.

RSS Channel Presentation and Searching
http://rssxpress.ukoln.ac.uk/lite/
RSS Channel Presentation and Searching
The trouble with RSS files is you can't readily include them on your own home page. The XML format means you would need to parse or scrape them for the information you wanted, write some script to turn that information into HTML and then embed this some how in your own page. Since RSS files are dynamic you'll also want to do this regularly, possibly automating the process.
RSSxpress Lite is a simple way of placing an RSS channel onto your own websites using a single line of JavaScript. You don't even need to understand JavaScript, just cut an paste and hopefully it'll work!
