Team Apart Makes the Virtual Meeting Social
http://mashable.com/2009/08/06/team-apart/
Team Apart Makes the Virtual Meeting Social
There is a lot of software out there for conducting virtual conferences and performing demos: GoToMeeting, Microsoft Office Live Meeting, WebEx, and AdobeAcrobat Connect immediately come to mind. Most of these programs though require software to be installed and are meant for conference meetings rather than team collaboration.
They’re not virtual workspaces.
Enter Team Apart (formerly Meetcast), a Y Combinator-funded startup that is now launching its free, web-based workspace application. And it is something to behold: not only does it carry basic virtual meeting features such as demo support and video chat, but it has an array of features that make it a useful virtual workspace.

Twiddla
http://www.twiddla.com/
We didn't set off to change the world with Twiddla. Honest!
Due to the distributed nature of our work, we needed a good tool to collaborate on design ideas in real time. But you know what? There really wasn't anything out there that met our needs. It was killing us. If you've ever had to take a screenshot, mark it up in MS Paint or Photoshop, email it to your designers, then wait a day for them to write back, you'll know our pain.
Mark up websites, graphics, and photos, or start brainstorming on a blank canvas. Browse the web with your friends or make that conference call more productive than ever. No plug-ins, downloads, or firewall voodoo - it's all here, ready to go when you are. Browser-agnostic, user-friendly.
Browse websites in a shared, real-time whiteboard, while marking them up, sharing files, and chatting along. It's called co-browsing; all the cool kids are doing it.

FlashMeeting
http://flashmeeting.open.ac.uk/
FlashMeeting is an application based on the Adobe Flash 'plug in' and Flash Media Server. Running in a standard web browser window, it allows a dispersed group of people to meet from anywhere in the world with an internet connection.
Typically a meeting is pre-booked by a registered user and a url, containing a unique password for the meeting, is returned by the FlashMeeting server.
The 'booker' passes this on to the people they wish to participate, who simply click on the link to enter into the meeting at the arranged time.
During the meeting one person speaks (i.e. broadcasts) at a time. Other people can simultaneously contribute using text chat, the whiteboard, or emoticons etc. while waiting for their turn to speak.
This way the meeting is ordered, controlled and easy to follow. A replay of the meeting is instantly available, to those with the 'unique' replay url.
