Making Sense of the QCA Scheme of Work for ICT
The National Curriculum for ICT has been re-written and is now organised into four sections plus a common section Breadth of Study. Each section is divided into statements. This document maps each unit of work in the QCA scheme of work, including the revised units, to RM software that can be used in its delivery. This document also links the Programme of Study statements covered in each unit within both the New and Old Curriculum to assist future planning. The ICT National Curriculum headings have been listed here to make the interpretation of pupils?learning easier to manage as they work on the QCA units.

What is an ICT scheme of work?
Delivering the ICT programme of study: useful links and background information
In 1998 the DfEE and the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) issued a scheme of work for information technology (IT) at Key Stages 1 and 2 to help schools to deliver the IT programme of study. In 2000, QCA issued a scheme of work for ICT at Key Stage 3 .
These schemes of work are non-statutory and are designed to help with planning. They are intended to help teachers to turn the programme of study into what the National Curriculum handbook calls 'practical and manageable teaching programmes'.
