Sun, Moon and Earth
The sun is at the centre of our solar system. It is a star which gives us both heat and light. The earth is a planet and it orbits the sun.
The moon is a satellite and it orbits the earth.
The sun, moon and earth are all more or less spherical; the earth and the moon are moving all the time around the sun. To us on earth it does not always seem to be so. The moon seems to change shape and the sun appears to move across the sky.
By doing the following tasks you will see why!

We live on a huge sphere that is spinning and moving through space. All around us - huge distances away - there are other spheres. The most important to us is our Sun, which is also our nearest star. The closest to us is our own satellite, the Moon.
