Interactive Tutorial Software for Beginning Wind Instrumentalists
http://www.original-works.co.uk/ibegin/index.html
iBegin is an interactive software package containing 43 illustrated, interactive lessons, with 155 scores and parts, which enables beginning wind instrumentalists to learn to play their instrument and to read music in a step-by-step learning style, right from the time that they open the case. Students can be accompanied by a synthesized full wind band when they practise, or by their own part, should they prefer, with the facility to adjust the speed of the playback to suit a student's learning speed. If students follow the course and practise daily, it will take them from being complete beginners to players of intermediate standard. Beginners can also use iBegin as a reference tool, as it contains illustrated instrumental maintenance instructions, basic music theory, basic instructions on how to use the Sibelius?notation program, an interactive fingering chart and interactive scales and arpeggi.
iBegin CDs can be used as a teaching tool by any teacher who is a music reader with some computer experience.
