The textbook for each grade level has eight instructional modules, with each module focused on a theme. The five content areas and the standards given in Roman numerals are taken directly from the NCTM document as are the expectations, listed with capital letters, for each grade band. In grades Pre-K through 8, grade level South Carolina standards were developed and are indicated by Arabic numerals for each grade. However, in grades 9-12, the standards committee developed South Carolina specific standards that students should have throughout their high school mathematics career with no grade level breakdown. |
