Climate Change in Scotland
Climate change is recognised as the most serious environmental threat to our planet. Unless we can reduce reliance on fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas, the threat posed by increasingly unpredictable and violent weather will continue to grow.
This site has been produced on behalf of the Scottish Executive by Learning and Teaching Scotland. Whilst it will be of interest to everyone, it is aimed at young people aged between 9 and 14 (levels C/D/E of the Scottish curriculum) to inform and raise awareness of some of the key issues surrounding climate change and the effect on Scotland.

These changes can be caused by processes internal to the Earth, external forces (e.g. variations in sunlight intensity) or, more recently, human activities.
