TrekLens
http://www.treklens.com/
The underlying theme of TrekLens is learning more about the world through photography.
TrekLens fosters this by allowing photographers to display their work grouped by regions in a supportive and orderly environment. This is accomplished by an easy-to-use system which encourages people to critique each other's work. Integrated with this system are forums designed to encourage discussion about specific photos, countries, and general topics.

A virtual tour of a country
http://www.ictadvice.org.uk/index.php?section=tl&cat=001002004&rid=4871
Year 9 pupils created a virtual tour of a country using PowerPoint as part of a unit of work on comparing countries. The activity, which also involved use of a database, an electronic atlas and the internet, encouraged pupils to research information about different countries and develop independent enquiry skills.

Where in the world is Barnaby Bear?
http://www.standards.dfee.gov.uk/schemes/geography/geo5?version=1
This is a 'continuous' unit, designed to be developed at various points throughout the key stage. It uses a first-hand object - Barnaby the teddy bear - to enable children to learn about other countries and places. Barnaby travels with different people connected to the school as well as on school visits, creating a sense of personal involvement for the children. Guidance on how to link the Geography Scheme of Work with other areas of the curriculum can be found in the section about Links with other areas of the curriculum. This particular unit offers links to mathematics, design and technology and history.
