Author, Author Virtual Field Trip
A Module on Writing for Children - By Cara Bafile
The field trip accompanying this module introduces students to the writing process through the eyes of children's book authors. Children usually encounter the steps in the process of writing -- pre-writing, writing, revising, editing, and publishing at some point in their elementary experience, but they rarely apply that understanding to the work of real authors.
On the field trip, students will study the steps of process writing. They will visit several children's authors' Web sites and answer questions such as:
Why did this author begin writing? | How does he/she develop the idea for his/her books? | What kind of books does he or she write? | What steps does the author follow? | How did he or she first become published? |

Handwriting for Kids
Learning to write numbers and letters are important tasks for children. It should be exciting and enjoyable activity through which children can experience success.
Each lesson is featured on its own page, and kids are shown in simple steps how to write the numbers, letters, and sentences. Kids can trace uppercase and lowercase letters, and even blank sheets are provided for kids to practice more before their next lessons!
All kids can improve their writing skills with lots of practice. If your kids are having difficulties, you can reprint any of these lessons or practice sheets until they're ready to move forward to the next lesson. The practice sheets are useful for parents or teachers to create their own letters, words, and sentences.

Cursive Handwriting Worksheet Generator
http://www.handwritingworksheets.com/cursive-1/make-c.htm
Making a cursive handwriting worksheet using the same format as our other writing styles is difficult to accomplish. This occurs since most cursive letters are connected to each other, however, the beginning strokes of a letter follow different paths depending on the letter that precedes it.
When the cursive section is completed, you will have two options for each size of cursive letters. In our "separated" option, the cursive letters are not connected, but rather, separated by a small space. The student can then look at the letters for cues on proper form, but has to choose how they will be connected.
