The Catholic Church in Hong Kong, established in 1841, is under the leadership of Cardinal John B. Wu with the assistance of three Vicars General, two of them bishops, 338 priests and 530 religious Sisters belonging to the diocese of Hong Kong and 46 religions or missionary societies. It has a Catholic population of about 347,000 and an average of 4,000 baptisms per year. The majority of the Hong Kong Catholics are Chinese. However, there are various national groups of Filipino, Korean, Japanese, Indian, French and German active Catholics. Sunday religious services are offered in 101 places, and there are 322 Catholic schools and 67 various social service centres.
