The College arrived in Beijing in August 2004 with an academic programme based upon the National Curr. for England & Wales, suitably adapted for the international market, and today there are 1100 students on the roll.

MSI is a special project school of Texas Tech University Independent School District (TTUISD).
Chinese language classes will be offered as a regular class period using the Chinese Made Easy curriculum .
In addition, Chinese language will be used by teachers in non-core subjects. (Art, Music, PE, computers, etc.) The content and learning processes of the non-core class remains the main focus. (Language will add a sense of interest and challenge.) As long as the student has sufficient English level he/she is encouraged to respond in Chinese. As much as possible, teachers will use Chinese language that is appropriate to the language level of individual students. Another consideration is to add Chinese as classroom language during and between core subject.
However, a student's English development is the priority. Some student's whose English is low will be involved in ESOL work in the afternoons instead of Chinese.
